About the Course

Overview

This course provides learners with an overview of IT systems that enable integrated FM including Computerized Maintenance and Management System (CMMS) and the Building Management System (BMS). The course covers procurement strategies for FM system and includes hands-on sessions where learners will work with simulated building operating data to gain practical experience.

Objectives

Upon completion of the module, you will be able to:

Operate the CMMS for asset management, maintenance management, failure analysis, inventory management, and decision support using dashboard and maintenance module.
Describe the various hardware and software components of the BMS as part of the Building Data Management and Automation System
Describe the 4 key stages of the FM Procurement Framework and thus applying the life cycle costing principles to FM procurement.
Use web-based simulation programs to analyze the impact of changes in operating parameters on building performance.

Module 3: Integrated Facility Management (Course code: 79034 – M3)

Duration: 66 hrs over 3 months

Computerised Management and Maintenance System
This course enables learners to use Computerised Management and Maintenance System (CMMS) to better manage building premises using computerised database of information.
Building Management System
The Building Management System (BMS) system is a computer-based system that operates, monitors and controls a building’s major Mechanical & Electrical system and equipment. This course introduces the hardware and software associated with the BMS, and discuss the interoperability of the different building systems.
Procurement of FM System
This course introduces the practice and approach towards an outcome-based Integrated FM contract, from pre-tender through post-tender stages, to drive better performance and FM value.
Web-Based Hands on Simulation Tool

This course allows learners to appreciate and experience how changes in building systems parameters could impact building performance.

Classes are conducted on weekday evenings (2 to 3 nights per week), except for Module 4 which will be conducted over 4 full days, and Module 5 (Workplace Learning) which is conducted on full time basis.

Note: Registration closes 2 weeks prior to modular certificate commencement or when the class is fully subscribed, whichever comes first. Registration can remain open until course commencement date if training spaces are still available.

Who Should Attend

Individual who are looking for training opportunities to transit to the Built Environment sector or upskill to a new job role within the sector. Unemployed individual enrolling in the programmes may be eligible for higher funding.

Assessment & Award

Upon successful completion of each module, i.e. meeting minimum attendance requirement and passing the assessments within the module, participants will be awarded an e-certificate of Attendance (e-COA).

Those who have successfully completed all modules will be issued a full certificate.

Entry Requirement

Singapore citizens;
Singapore Permanent Residents;
Holders of LTVP;
Completed GCE ‘A’ level OR a recognised Diploma programme
Participants should commit to fulfil the programme requirement, including minimum attendance requirements and passing of assessments.
