Overview
Buildings account for over 20% of Singapore’s carbon emission. Greening the built environment is therefore a key strategy to achieve the sustainability target under Singapore Green Plan 2030. To support this effort, the Built Environment sector requires a highly-skilled green-equipped workforce to design, develop and manage buildings towards a more sustainable future.
The SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP) in Sustainable Design (Built Environment) will equip you with industry-relevant knowledge and skills to incorporate green building design considerations and strategies and perform environmental simulations, while ensuring that the designs are compliant to relevant codes and regulations. You will also have opportunity to undergo the Certification Course for Green Mark Accredited Professionals and obtain the highly sought professional certification.
Objectives
Upon completion of the programme, you will be able to:
- assist in the development of architectural designs using digital tools and platforms,
- gather necessary information for work approvals based on regulatory and legislative prerequisites,
- analyse performance of buildings against architectural designs, and
- adopt environmental sustainability and green building methods in building design.
These knowledge and skills will equip you to pursue a career in the Built Environment sector as Architectural Assistant or Sustainable Design Assistant.
