  • Describe core principles underlying facilities management, and the rules and regulations that govern it.
  • Explain the principles of Building Information Modelling for facilities management.
  • Demonstrate the future of smart facilities management in the form of data analytics of facilities amenities and the Internet of Things and its applications to facilities management.
Course Outline

Module 1: Digital Delivery of FM (Course code: 79034 – M1)

Duration: 52 hrs over 3 months

  • Introduction to Facilities Management

This course introduces the concepts and principles of facilities management, asset management, risk management and the basic principles of building legislation under the Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act.

  • BIM for Facilities Management

This course bridges digital project delivery and operational performance. It covers core BIM Fundamentals, explaining how design models become rich asset data sources. You'll learn to define essential data by developing Asset Information Requirements (AIR). Finally, we focus on implementing this data within a BIM-Centric CMMS, enabling proactive maintenance and data-driven decisions across the asset lifecycle.

  • Integrated Digital Delivery for Facilities Management
  • This course delves into the use of Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) to integrate processes and stakeholders through advanced info-communications technology (ICT) and smart technologies, hence improving FM outcome.
