About the Course

Overview

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) requires potential tower crane erectors to undergo this training programme before they apply to MOM to become approved crane erectors.

Individuals / Supervisors who want to become approved crane erector for tower/cranes should attend this course.

Objectives

The course provides classroom-based learning emphasising safety planning and procedure in tower crane erection, jacking and dismantling and legal requirements and responsibilities of various stakeholders.

Course Outline

This training course consists of the following topics:

Duties and responsibility of stakeholders
Site preparation and erection consideration
Hazards identification and risk assessment
Conduct erection coordination meeting
Implement emergency procedure
Safe work procedure in tower crane erecting and jacking
Safety procedure in tower crane dismantling
External and internal climbing of tower crane
Supervision in tower crane erection, jacking, dismantling and simulation exercises

3 days or 8 evenings (24 hours)

Assessment & Award

Participants who have attended at least 75% of the training sessions and passed the course assessments will be issued with the Certificate of Successful Completion (CSC). Validity of this certificate is four years.

Entry Requirement

At least 21 years of age*
Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents or holder of a valid employment pass/work permit.
Have a basic knowledge of workplace processes, procedures, activities and practices in tower crane erection and jacking.
Have a basic knowledge of the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health System.
Be able to listen, read, speak and write English/Chinese at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System ESS level 4.
Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS level 4.
Posses Lifting Supervisor Certificate or equivalent
Be physically fit, without height phobia and no visual deficiency

* Before registration, MOM requires applicants who are 60 years old and above to undergo medical certification by a Singapore registered Medical Practitioner. BCA Academy hence strongly advises candidates to go for medical certification before enrolling in the course.

	To be confirmed	Fee payable after 70% funding support Singaporeans 40 years old and above OR SME company sponsored Singaporeans or Singapore PRs

Participant must achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all assessments. BCA Academy reserves the right to recover the funded amount from the participant (self-sponsored) or employer (company sponsored) if participant did not meet the eligibility criteria.
