Overview
What makes a building green? Is it possible to generate complex shapes with some strokes of the key (think Jewel or Sports Hub)? How do we make buildings “friendly” for everyone? If you think you know the answer, think again. We’ll take your understanding and challenge you further.
The Diploma in Digital and Sustainable Architecture (DSA) will equip you with the knowledge, skills and experience to design sustainable buildings. You will learn how to create complex building shapes and forms, optimised to meet performance requirements while ensuring they meet regulatory requirements. In addition, you will also gain a comprehensive understanding of how digital technology can be used in the design process.
This diploma allows you to obtain a Certificate for Green Mark Accredited Professional (GMAP), and earn a Digital Delivery Management (DDM) recognition from buildingSMART Singapore upon meeting minimum requirements.
Why DDSA?
Shape a greener, smarter future for the Built Environment by mastering
sustainable design and digital workflows.
Learn to create buildings that balances form, function, and environmental
sustainability —by optimizing performance and resource use through technology.
Be part of the next generation of designers who blend creativity with
computational tools, simulation, and data-driven decision-making.
Gain valuable exposure through real-world projects, internships, and structured
workplace learning with industry partners, and be equipped to drive Singapore’s
sustainable transformation.
About Digital and Sustainable Architecture
Digital and Sustainable Architecture integrates environmental sustainability and digital intelligence. You’ll explore how buildings can respond to climate, site, and user needs through performance-based design, while leveraging digital tools to refine and optimize solutions. Students will be equipped to contribute to the evolving green and digital Built Environment, bridging architectural creativity with sustainable innovation.
Next-Gen Green Design Skills
Train as a next-generation architectural technologist:
- Design for sustainability using passive strategies tailored for tropical environments
- Apply BIM, parametric modelling, and environmental simulation to create high-performance buildings
- Integrate lifecycle thinking and carbon management into design decisions
- Harness digital workflows to collaborate effectively and deliver sustainable, future-ready architecture
Industry-Relevant
Learning
Benefit from BCA Academy’s strong linkages with the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and leading Built Environment firms. The DDSA curriculum is co-developed with industry to address the growing demand for designers skilled in sustainability, digital design, and regulatory compliance. Through industry projects and workplace learning, students gain hands-on experience transforming concepts into sustainable, buildable, and future-ready architectural solutions.
