About the Course

Overview

This advanced application module explores comprehensive implementation of computational design tools across diverse built environment disciplines. The course covers sophisticated applications spanning architectural design, structural engineering, and mechanical & electrical systems integration. Participants will master industry-specific computational workflows that address real-world challenges in contemporary construction projects. The curriculum emphasises cross-disciplinary integration and advanced tool utilisation, preparing learners to implement computational design solutions across the entire spectrum of built environment applications.

At the end, the learners will take the capstone module provides immersive workplace experience within established Built Environment firms, enabling participants to apply comprehensive theoretical knowledge gained from Modules 1-5 in authentic professional settings. The industrial attachment facilitates practical skill development, valuable industry exposure, and essential professional network building crucial for career advancement. This module serves as the culmination of the programme, integrating all previous learning into meaningful workplace applications whilst providing real-world experience in computational design implementation within the built environment sector.

Objectives

Upon completion of the module, you will be able to:

  • implement computational design tools across architectural, structural, and M&E applications to solve complex built environment challenges
  • apply theoretical knowledge and computational design skills from Modules 1-5 to solve real-world problems and complete practical tasks within a Built Environment workplace setting
  • demonstrate professional competency in computational design workflows and establish industry networks for career development

This will adequately equip you to pursue a career as a Specialist (Digital Delivery).

Course Outline

Module 5: Computational BIM Tool Application 2 (Course code: 79033 – M5)

Duration: 2.5 months

  • Computational BIM Tool Application 2

This module covers the use of computational design tools in the BE sector and their various applications ranging from architectural, structural to M&E etc.

*Module 6: Workplace Learning (Course code: 79033 – M6)

Duration: 3 months

  • Industrial Attachment

Learners will be placed in a Built Environment firm to apply the theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting. Learners will gain industry experience and build professional networks that can help to launch careers.
