About the Course

Overview

"Certification Course on Leading Strategic Carbon Management" is designed to empower senior executives in driving organisational decarbonisation efforts in the built environment sector. Trainer / Lecturer

CHEN WENJIE is the Associate Director for the New Buildings department of Building System & Diagnostics (BSD), where he supervises and manages all new building projects and oversees BSD's projects in China. Conversant in local building codes and regulatory frameworks, he provides Environmental Sustainability Design (ESD) advisory services to both private and public sector developments, helping clients reduce energy consumption through optimised building design and obtain environmental certifications such as Green Mark, LEED, WELL, EarthCheck, and WiredScore. Wenjie spearheads the ESD team across projects in Singapore, Malaysia, China, and South-East Asia, and serves as the key technical expert for carbon reporting and carbon neutral roadmap advisory, assisting corporations with operational carbon tracking frameworks, emission target reviews, environmental product declarations, and carbon footprint minimisation across different building stages and stakeholders, whilst also conducting hotel audits for performance indicators and operational carbon emissions. 

FARIZAN BTE RAMLI is the Senior Partner of GreenA Consultants, a sustainability building consultancy firm based in Singapore and Africa. She has worked with numerous organisations as an independent consultant, including GIZ, UN Habitat, ICF through USAID programmes, and the Global Green Growth Institute on various energy codes and capacity building initiatives. She has been instrumental in many government-to-government collaborations in sustainability knowledge management, which have resulted in the launch of the Green Minimum Compliance framework for Rwanda and the Eco Protocol for the City of Panama. Farizan was conferred the Green Advocate of the Year award at the BCA-SGBC Green Building Individual Awards in 2015, a Sustainability Leadership Award recognising industry leader for outstanding contributions to the field. She serves as a Board Member of the Singapore Green Building Council and Vice President of the Singapore Institute of Building Limited.

Who Should Attend

Industry practitioners who are keen to embark on Green Mark journey or play the role of a Green Specialist, e.g. Developers, Building Owners, Architects, Engineers, Consultants, Project Managers, Facility Managers etc.

Assessment & Award

An e-Certificate of Successful Completion (e-CSC) will be issued to participants who:

  • Achieve at least 75% class attendance; and
  • Pass assignments.
