INTRODUCTION
The Fire Safety Management (FSM) scheme was given wide publicity since 1989. Together with the passing of the Fire Safety Act 1993 and the Fire Safety (Fire Safety Manager) Regulations 1994, it has become mandatory for owners of designated buildings to appoint Fire Safety Manager. The amended FSM regulations, gazetted on 13 Apr 2007, aims to make further improvements to the FSM scheme to enhance the fire safety standard within buildings. This course prepares potential Fire Safety Manager for such varied roles and functions include being able to interpret the Fire Safety Act and Regulations among others.
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applications should be accompanied by copies of at least 1 of the minimum entry requirements stated on SCDF website, please refer to www.scdf.gov.sg. Successful applicants are required to bring their original certificates for verification during registration.
Please note that lesson materials are available in the online Student Portal and will not be printed/issued during the course. A ID and password to access the Student Portal will be issued before the course commence. You will need a computer or mobile smart devices to access the notes. Please bring along your devices if you are attending Face- to-Face lessons at BCA Academy.
AWARD
BCA Academy is an Accredited Training Institution of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). The Fire Safety Manager Certificate issued by BCA Academy is recognised by the SCDF for the Fire Safety Manager. Participants who meet at least 80% attendance and successfully pass all assessments will be awarded the Fire Safety Manager Certificate.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The course is relevant for all persons whose trade or occupation requires or includes fire safety activities, fire prevention measures and firefighting facilities in order to perform the role of Fire Safety Manager.

SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) funding is available for eligible participants as follows:
Singaporeans 40 years old and above OR SME company sponsored Singaporeans or Singapore PRs. Fee payable after 70% funding support S$484.11 (incl of GST).
Singaporeans, Singapore PRs and non SME company sponsored participants. Fee payable after 50% funding support S$745.79 (incl of GST).
Participant must achieve at least 80% attendance and pass all assessments. BCA Academy reserves the right to recover the funded amount from the participant (self-sponsored) or employer (company sponsored) if participant did not meet the eligibility criteria.
