Good Industry Practices - Marble/Granite/Ceramic Tiling

OVERVIEW
Granite, Marble and Ceramic tilling are common finishes in building work. The “Good Industry Practices – Marble and Granite Finishes” and “Good Industry Practices – Ceramic Tiling” were developed to share with the industry good work practices adopted by practitioners and contractors who have consistently delivered high quality work, providing simple and practical tips to assist designers in selecting tiles and contractors in achieving high quality workmanship. This course highlights the good practices as introduced in the two guidebooks.

OBJECTIVES
This course aims to provide the participants with
•   a good understand on the design issues relating to tiling works; 
•   practical tips and suggestions on achieving good tiling works, including preparatory works, installation of tiling works and protection of completed works; and
•   a good understanding of common defects and how to prevent them.

•   Delivery, handling and storage of tiles and stones
•   Preparatory works to ensure proper installation
•   Installation processes and inspection
•   Protection of completed flooring
•   Common defects and corrective measures

LECTURER(S)
MS JESSELINE YAP, Senior Manager, Mapei Far East Pte Ltd
Jesseline has more than 25 years experience on tile and stone related works and materials in the construction industry. Trained in the U.S. and Italy, Jesseline is well versed in product knowledge and applications for the installation of ceramic tile and stone as well as in related industry standards and practices. Over the years, Jesseline has conducted numerous seminars and technical talks relating to tile and stone works. Jesseline obtained her business degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia. Jesseline is currently the Senior Manager for the Adhesive Line at Mapei Far East Pte Ltd in Singapore, a leading manufacturer in adhesives, sealants and construction materials.
