This course is one of the key components in “Certification on Specialist Builders (Piling) Scheme” contributes toward enhancing the piling professionalism, improving quality of piling works for safety of buildings on piles, and ensuring competencies of the piling companies in Singapore.
Objectives
The course aims to provide the necessary training for the key personnel for piling industry. It also serves to certify the trained candidate to be qualified to serve in the piling industry as technical manager, piling engineer, site operation supervisor, certification body technical auditor, and other relevant position, as required by Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) CT31 and CT32 on Certification on Specialist Builders (Piling) Scheme.

DR. CHEW SOON HOE, a Professional Engineer, graduated with PhD from the University of California at Berkeley, USA. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore. He was the Deputy Director of the Centre for Protective Technology (CPT), a research and development centre jointly formed by the Ministry of Defence, Singapore, and NUS. He is currently the Director of SSI (Safety Study Initiative), NUS, and President of ASCE (Singapore Chapter). His research and consultancy experiences include ground improvement, land reclamation, geosynthetics and general foundation engineering.

Participants must achieve at least 75% attendance to sit for the test at end-of-course. Those who pass the test will be awarded the e-Certificate of Successful Completion(e-CSC). Participants who did not pass the test will be issued with a Statement of Attendance (e-SOA).
