Event code: 78038 INTRODUCTION
Good passive and ventilation design strategies could reduce the dependence of active cooling yet maintaining a good thermal environment. This course promotes the design for thermal comfort with ventilation strategies. Participants are also introduced to the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation software to model airflow in a space and urban environment, so as to analyse the effectiveness of various design options. CONTENTS
• Introduction to Passive Design and Ventilation
• Natural Ventilation Strategies
• Thermal Comfort Under Tropical Conditions
• Introduction to CFD in Green Building Application
• CFD Simulation for Building Ventilation Design
- Creating 3D Geometry Model
- Meshing Computational Model
- Applying Appropriate Boundary Condition and Physical Assumption
- CFD Computer Number Crunching
• Analysing CFD Result for Design and Improvement LECTURERS
