Contract Administration Essentials under FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Construction

INTRODUCTION
The FIDIC (Fédération Internationale des Ingénieurs-Conseils) publishes a suite of standard forms of contract which are generally recommended for international construction projects.
Under the FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Construction for use in traditional build-only project delivery, the Employer appoints an Engineer to carry out the duties under the contract with the assistance of suitably qualified engineers and other professionals in strict compliance with an administrative protocol.

OBJECTIVES
With opportunities abound for infrastructure and construction developments in the region, the workshop aims to equip those involved or about to be involved in international procurement and contracting with the knowledge and understanding of the contract administration essentials and key practice issues under the FIDIC standard form and to appreciate what is expected of them. These include procedures and timelines which must be followed closely by the Employer and his representatives not only in the management and issuance, but also on the form and substance, of the myriad of notices, instructions, requests and certificates.
