Installation of Structural Supports For Air-Con Units
A 17 - hour course leading to a Certificate of Successful Completion Recognised by Building and Construction Authority (BCA) for Air-con Installers

OVERVIEW
As our society becomes more affluent, the demand on the use of air-conditioning has increased. This has resulted in a steady increase in the use of small a/c units in residential, commercial and industrial premises. Most of these a/c units are installed in high-rise buildings over public areas. Besides good design of the supports, good workmanship in installation is very important. Hence, it is important for a/c installers to be properly trained on the appropriate methods of installing a/c unit supports. Workers who are involved in air-con unit installation should attend this course.

OBJECTIVES
This course enhances participant's skills and knowledge on the proper and safe installation of supports for condensing unit and window unit. It covers the tools and equipment of the trade, different types of steel angle support, substrate, appropriate installation techniques and the necessary safety precautions to be taken during the installation process.

COURSE OUTLINE
The course consists of classroom lectures and practical hands-on training on safe installation of condensing unit and window unit. Topics covered include:
- Types of air-conditioning system
- BCA requirements with regards to the installation of air-con condensing units and window units
- Use of suitable supports and fastening systems
- Correct methods of installing condensing units and window units in HDB and non HDB flats
- Safety precautions

There will be 9 hours of theory lessons and 4 hours of practical hands-on session for trainees to familiarise with installing air-con condensing units onto walls.

LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION
- English
- For other languages, the company can provide their own language interpreter to assist during the training sessions and assessment.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents or holders of valid work permit
- Preference will be given to applicants sponsored by air-con installation companies
- Minimum 2 years of air-con installation experience is required.

Date: 28, 29 & 30 May 2024
Duration: 13 hours
Test/Assessment: 4 hours
Frequency: 2 days or 4 evenings
Time : 8.30am to 5.30pm (day class)
           6.00pm to 10.00pm (evening class)
Venue: BCA Braddell Campus 
Fee (inclusive of 9% GST): S$682.52 (without Subsidy) 

SSG FUNDING DETAILS

Singaporeans 40 years old and above OR SME company sponsored Singaporeans or Singapore PRs. Fee payable after 70% funding support

Participant must achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all assessments. ASSESSMENT & AWARD
