Almost 200 industry leaders from the building and construction industry attended the inaugural SMU-BCA Advanced Management Programme (AMP) Graduation Ceremony at the Singapore Management University (SMU) Conference Hall on 27 April 2009.

Besides a welcome note from Prof Annie Koh, Dean (Office of Professional & Executive Education) and an opening address by Dr John Keung, BCA’s CEO, the Executive Director, Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited, Mr. Justin Chiu gave a keynote presentation on the recent trend and outlook of the Asian property market. A lively panel discussion with representatives from Cheung Kong, Hexacon Construction, Davis Langdon & Seah and Shimizu Corporation addressed several key points including the demand for manpower and the future of the industry. The ceremony concluded with an interesting sharing session by a student representative on their learning journey of the inaugural cohort.

About the AMP
The programme is the first and only building industry-focused AMP targeted at the senior leaders of the building and construction industry. The 9-module AMP aims to strengthen the management capabilities of the industry firms to transform and lead the industry. Through nine construction case studies featured and in-depth discussion, participants also gathered insights to how these companies managed challenges and issues around their businesses effectively. The programme also enjoys a 50% course fee subsidy from WDA.
