After months of preparation by the BCAA Student Council, the first “Sharing of Learning Experience” session was successfully held on 16 Sept 2009. The event was organised at the right time as many of our students are currently preparing for their coming examination in mid-October.

More than one hundred of our full-time diploma students attended the sharing session. Top students from different courses and levels shared zealously with the audience about their secrets of scoring good results.

How to achieve good results in school?” was the main concern to the audience (students) who attended the session.

Sun He, the president of BCAA Student Council, gave a welcome speech to the audience and highlighted the objectives of the event. Being a student himself, he emphasised the importance of “goal setting” in learning as well as the daily hard work which students have to put in before an examination.

Sun He, the president of BCAA Student Council, emphasised the importance of “goal setting” in learning.

Top student Phyu Phyu Thwe from Diploma in Construction Engineering shared her techniques in answering questions during the examination.

“It is very important to fully understand what the question means and how it should be answered!” Phyu Phyu Thwe advised the audience during the sharing session.

The learning problems encountered by students from different courses were not the same. During the “Q & A” session, the council also invited these top students to answer queries from the audience on how to overcome various types of learning difficulties in different courses.

Before wrapping up the session, Top student Chen Qiao Fen from Diploma in Construction Engineering, Year 2, who is a leader from the council’s Learning Department, announced to the audience that a study room has been made available for those who wish to stay behind for self-study after class.

Although the session lasted for an hour, the spirit of “selflessness” among these top students has forged a learning culture of sharing in the academy.

The general feedback from the audience was encouraging. Students remarked that having more dialogue sessions with top students would definitely help them achieve better results and most importantly, enhance their confidence in future learning.
