Showcasing the milestones in Singapore's Built Environment
Visitors to the BCA Gallery will experience an interactive journey of Singapore's building development through the years and gain insights into BCA's integral role in shaping a safe, sustainable, high-quality and friendly built environment now and for the future.
The BCA Gallery is a showcase of the development of Singapore's built environment. The four key pillars of an excellent built environment, namely, safety, quality, sustainability and friendly, are highlighted collectively in this multi-sensory treat of interactive exhibits, model showcases and pull-out panels.
The Gallery is sub-divided into three zones according to three distinct themes:
-
Zone 1 - Dimensions of Growth
-
Zone 2 - Building for Safety and Excellence
-
Zone 3 - Towards Our Vision
The Gallery tour opens with the first theme of "Dimensions of Growth" by revisiting Singapore's built environment from the early days of economic development. Zone 1 showcases the development of the built environment from the post-war period to the present and how it has impacted society, economy and the use of technology.
Zone 2 focusing on the theme of "Building for Safety and Excellence" provides visitors with interesting insights into the nuts and bolts of the construction process from scratch to finish.
As a finale of the tour, Zone 3 entices visitors with a glimpse of the future under the theme of "Towards Our Vision". Here, visitors are treated to an array of panels and interactive displays of the latest technology for the built environment. We see an integration of ideas and innovations that goes into the shaping of a safe, high-quality, sustainable and friendly built environment for Singapore.
