6-Day Executive Development Programme for ZheJiang Delegates

Some 19 officials from the Zhejiang province, PRC attended the 6-day programme on the planning and development of a sustainable built environment from 18th to 25th November 2011. The programme was developed by BCA Academy (BCAA) with the aim to share with the Chinese officials Singapore’s efforts in planning and developing a sustainable built environment in Singapore. The programme consisted of classroom lectures, complemented by green facility tours. The delegation was made up of mainly senior government directors, officials, engineers and professionals from the various ministries from Zhejiang province.
A total of 7 government agencies – CSC, URA, NParks, HDB, NEA, PUB, LTA Academy participated in this programme to share their experiences in administering their respective niche programmes, viz. public administration framework and good governance, development control and redevelopment framework, design & concepts of transforming a city into a garden, public housing and new town development framework in Singapore, environment, water and waste management framework and the transportation strategies in Singapore.
In addition, BCA officers also shared Singapore’s experience in Building Control System, Development Experience & Vision of Green Buildings, and CONQUAS / Quality Mark Scheme. The Chinese officials also visited our BCA Gallery, the Zero Energy Building and other exemplary sites and galleries in Singapore to complement their knowledge gained at the classroom lectures. Places visited included the URA Gallery, Gardens by the Bay, Treelodge @ Punggol, Marina Barrage and the HDB Gallery.
The 6-day training ended with a certificate presentation ceremony on the last day of the training. The officials received the Certificate of Accomplishment from Mr Benedict Tan, Managing Director of BCA Academy and a plaque from Mr Wang Jian Ping, General Manager of Zhejiang Construction Investment (S) Pte Ltd.
