The mission of the Centre is to build up Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) capabilities of the construction industry by providing quality training and education to foster a safe and healthy built environment. Through the Centre, BCA Academy conducts more than 20 WSH training programmes which are tailored to the needs of WSH personnel in the construction industry, ranging from workers and supervisors to managers and CEOs. BCA Academy is one of the Continuing Education and Training (CET) Centres accredited by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) for the WSQ WSH Professional Qualifications training programmes. BCA Academy also conducts courses that are prescribed as mandatory by the Ministry of Manpower.
The Centre regularly organise seminars, conferences and workshops in WSH for the construction industry.
The Workplace Safety and Health Learning Gallery at the BCA Academy was set up to showcase WSH best practices in construction industry in 5 key areas, namely, Working-at-Height, Confined Space, Noise Hazards and Controls, Proper Use of Personal Protective Equipment and Risk Management. The exhibits, videos, interactive demonstration and games will give visitors a better appreciation of WSH issues in the construction industry.
