A New Year marks a new beginning. This is the time to make some planning such as taking new programmes to upgrade one self. On 5th January, the BCA Academy organised two talks for the ‘Green Professionals’. Both the sessions were well attended by over a hundred of working professionals.
The session started with an industry update on Greening Singapore’s Built Environment by BCA Green Mark Dept. As part of BCA’s 2ND Green Building Master Plan, the Green Mark Department of BCA will be rolling out several green building initiatives in 2012. The talk covered an introduction to new initiatives such as energy data submission, minimum energy efficiency standards for existing buildings, triennial system efficiency audit and Building Retrofit Energy Efficiency Financing (BREEF) Scheme.
The second part of the afternoon was a public lecture on ‘A Holistic Management Approach To Sustainable FM – Greening the Supply Chain’. The presentation by Michael Pitt, Professor of Facility Management Innovation at The Bartlett School of Graduate Studies at University College London, looked at how through a partnering approach to supply chain management, green solutions could be delivered at the micro level. The result is not simply energy efficient buildings but sustainable Total FM services that embrace sustainability in all of its form.
The public lecture was followed by a Course Preview on the Master of Science in Sustainable Building Design and the Master of Science in Facility and Management. Whether your interest is in Sustainable Building Design or more towards Facility and Environment Management, the two MSc Programmes, which are offered by BCA Academy in partnership with two renowned UK universities, will open their doors for you.
Registration for 2012 Intake is now open.
