Amusement rides at the BCA Academy; would anyone care for a ride?

On 5th December 2011, the BCA Academy turned into an Amusement Park. However, the Viking machine was not for fun rides but for the participants of the Certified Risk Evaluator Program to experience the hands on inspection. |
On 14 February 2011, the Parliament passed the Amusement Rides Safety Bill. BCA Academy was thus called upon to organise courses to prepare industry practitioners for the eventual implementation of this new legislation. As such expertise is currently not available in Singapore, BCA engaged CLM Entertainment, an established training provider from the United States, to conduct training for our professionals. The “Certified Risk Evaluator (CRE)” program was customised to suit Singapore’s need and requirements.
The 1st run of this course was held from 6 to 9 Dec 2011 (Tues to Fri) at BCA Academy. The three presenters from United States were Mr Michael Carter, Mr Wallace James and Mr Donald Kennedy Fleck. The first three days programmes were classroom-based followed by hands-on inspection of amusement rides and written exam on the last day. After attending the program, all the participants who passed the exams are now recognised as “Certified Risk Evaluator”!
