In support of the national effort to develop Singapore into a green and sustainable city, our academy is offering the Master of Science in Sustainable Building Design in collaboration with The University of Notthingham. This is a 2-year part-time multi-disciplinary postgraduate programme is tailored to the specific needs of 'green' built environment professionals. The curriculum emphasises the importance of an integrated approach to sustainable building design and its associated technologies therefore addressing the needs of the profession at large. Students successfully completing the programme will acquire a broad range of competencies ranging from understanding macro, meso and micro analysis of buildings, to applying advanced stimulation techniques to inform the design of process.

The MSc programme will be fully taught by the lecturers from the University of Notthingham and the modules will be delivered in a series of one-week intensive blocks at BCA Academy.

UniSIM, together with BCA Academy and Singapore Polytechnic's School of Architecture and the Built Environment, designed an innovative programme that integrates the fields of Facilities Management (FM) with Events Management (EM). By having a programme that integrates facilities expertise with events management, students will be equipped with a firm foundation in leadership, planning, design, financials, communication and management skills together with the essential specialised EM and FM technology areas. This will ensure they have flexible career options and have the knowledge in large scale management and green building management.

The Programme

This programme is a partnership programme between SIM University and BCA Academy (BCAA). The programme equips students with a repertoire of specialist knowledge and skills for the productive management of projects. Students will be trained in a broad spectrum of competencies including interdisciplinary studies in building design and technology, construction management, international project management, cost management, contract administration, safety management and sustainability.

For Whom

The programme is suitable for practicing professionals in the building and construction industry or in related areas and graduates with a polytechnic diploma or GCE ‘A’ levels.
